Curaçao is an island that inspires all who visit to live life in bold, vivid color. Apart from its
stunning beaches, vibrant pastel buildings, and endless unique experiences, the island is home
to a welcoming community that consists of over 55 nationalities. This melting pot of culture has
created this undeniably upbeat spirit that boasts a “live and let live attitude” for all. This same
energy applies to the island’s support of the LGBTQ+ community. In 2022, Curaçao celebrated its
tenth-year anniversary of “Curaçao Pride” and continues to do so today. Every September, the
island comes together and kicks off a week-long celebration of love, diversity, and equality in
honor of the queer community. Visitors and locals from around the world get to enjoy a vibrant
and colorful parade, inspiring speakers, live performances, and impactful community
gatherings. When the week comes to an end, the commitment to inclusivity and acceptance
does not. The Curaçao Pride Foundation works year-round to organizes a diverse range of
events, workshops, and outreach programs to ensure that Curaçao remains one of the most
queer-friendly destinations in the Caribbean. Beyond events, there are several hotels and
attractions with IGLTA memberships as well as being TAG approved. Most importantly, in
Curaçao you are free and safe to be yourself and love authentically without judgment. Even with
many languages spoken on island, there is one word that is universally known and used …
“Dushi.” It means, sweet, nice, or beautiful and it is the epitome of the spirit of Curaçao and its
